Required Protective Equipment:

Helmet with Face Shield

Neck Guard (optional)

In addition to the above equipment, DC Diamond skaters will need to provide their own stick, skates, socks, practice jersey, and bag.

The protective gear listed above must be purchased on your own or if you are a first or second year DC Diamond skater, the equipment noted with an asterik (*) may be borrowed from the SPYHA.

DC Diamonds socks can be purchased from Spencer’s Pro Shop at Hartmeyer Ice Arena.

*Loaner Equipment Information:

The DC Diamonds have an agreement with the SPYHA that allows first and second year Diamond skaters to check out loaner equipment for use during the season. Any equipment NOT returned at the end of the season will be invoiced at replacement value and you will not be able to register for the next hockey season until your equipment is returned or the replacement cost paid to SPYHA. Equipment will be rated prior to it being loaned out. This rating will be on the contract you sign so there will be fewer questions when equipment comes back to SPYHA. Equipment showing excessive wear may be subject to a user fee at the discretion of the equipment managers. Repairs required for returning equipment into usable condition is the responsibility of the user or a joint determination between equipment manager and user will agree to disposition.Equipment will be issued according to the schedule below. During equipment issue, the managers WILL NOT be doing any resizing.

    Borrowed equipment problems will only be handled on Mondays, between 6 & 7 PM. Please try to make these times as they may be the only times we are available to resolve your issues. Other arena employees will not be able to assist you at other times. The equipment room will be open each Monday evening for the season.

    Uniform Information:

    A home and away jersey will be issued to each player at the start of the season. Jerseys are the property of the DC Diamonds and are only to be worn during games. Jerseys will be collected at the end of the season. Players/Parents will be billed for any unreturned jersey (s) at the end of the season.

    Stick Information

    A wood stick is suitable for beginner hockey players. When standing in skates, with the toe of the stick on the ground, the stick should reach to the chin or slightly above. When standing in shoes, the stick should be to the tip of the nose.
